Privacy Policy

How MegaScribe handles personal data.

Last updated: May 3, 2026

In this policy, we lay out: what data we collect and why; how your data is handled; and your rights with respect to your data. We do not sell your data.

This policy applies to MegaScribe and related services operated by Pastime-Live Inc.

What we collect and why

Our guiding principle is to collect only what we need. Here’s what that means in practice:

Identity & access

When you sign up or sign in (for example through our authentication provider), we process identifying information such as your name and email address. We use this to provide essential functionality, operate your account, communicate important notices about security and billing, and send product-related messages when appropriate.

Billing information

If you subscribe to a paid plan, you may provide payment card details and billing address during checkout. Payment information is collected and processed directly by our payment processor and is not stored on our servers in full.

Product interactions

We store on our systems the content you upload or generate in your account (for example audio you submit for transcription and the resulting transcript data), along with related metadata needed to run the service. Unless you delete this content, we may keep it as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your account will become immediately inaccessible. Accounting for database backups, your account and associated personal data will be fully purged from our systems within 90 days, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal obligations.

Website interactions

We collect information about how you use our websites and product for analytics, security, and product improvement. This may include, for example, your browser and operating system versions, your IP address, which pages you visited and how long they took to load, and which site referred you to us. Where analytics tools allow it, we configure them to reduce unnecessary personal data collection. If you have an account and are signed in, some analytics data may be associated with your account until your account is no longer active.

Anti-bot assessments

We may use third-party CAPTCHA or similar services to reduce automated abuse and protect account security.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies (including first‑party cookies and, where configured, analytics or testing tools from third parties) to operate sessions, remember preferences, secure the service, and measure product performance or experiments where applicable. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may limit some functionality.

Voluntary correspondence

When you contact us by email or through support channels, we keep that correspondence (including contact details you provide) so we can help you and respond to follow‑ups consistently.

When we access or share your information

  • To provide the Services. We use trusted subprocessors — such as cloud hosting, databases, authentication, payment processing, transcription or AI inference providers (where configured), analytics, email delivery, security, and monitoring — strictly as needed to run MegaScribe.
  • To investigate or prevent misuse. We may restrict or review account activity where necessary to enforce our terms, comply with law, protect users and the Service, or respond to abuse reports.
  • When required under applicable law.

Pastime-Live Inc contracts from and conducts its principal operations from the United States. Our production data infrastructure is hosted in the United States.

  • Requests for user data. Our policy is to not voluntarily disclose user data unless we are legally required to do so. If we receive valid legal process that compels disclosure, we may share the minimum information necessary to comply. Where we are permitted, we will notify affected users before disclosure unless we are legally prohibited or it would create a safety risk.
  • Preservation requests. We may preserve limited data when required by applicable law and only for the period required. At the end of any preservation period, we delete preserved copies unless we receive valid legal process requiring further retention.
  • If we are audited by a tax authority, we may need to share billing-related records. We share only the minimum necessary (for example billing address or tax identifiers).

How we secure your data

We use industry-standard protections for data in transit (such as TLS) and appropriate access controls and monitoring for our production systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we work to reduce risk and respond to issues when they arise.

What happens when you delete your content

If you delete content from your account, it will become inaccessible through the product. Accounting for backups, this content will be fully purged from our systems within 90 days, except where a longer retention period is required by law.

Location of site and data

Our products and websites are operated from the United States. If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that information you provide may be transferred to and stored in the United States. By using the Services and/or providing personal information, you acknowledge that transfer.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. We may need to verify your request before responding.

Changes & questions

We may update this policy to reflect legal requirements or our practices. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice (for example by email or in‑product message).
